Any information you give to an Enquiry Agent/Officer (PI) is treated as confidential as is any information they discover as a part of their investigation for you. The only time the information is passed on to third parties is if that Agent/Officer is required to do so by law.

This assumes you hire a licenced investigator, and not some dodgey outfit.
