Default No gamma, no Set top required,no $$$$ :)

Streaming to the internet is the next big thing.

I have as much Sci-Fi , comedy and cartoon channel as I can handle.

But...not the crappy Foxtel one, the one from the US.

Brilliant quality and well worth a look....

Integration to the home theatre is by a Matrox millenium or similar video card with composite output.

    pretty good i must say....

It will already work if you can fill a folder before it empties on a network share called "movie" by using a PC.

But of course the Dream has an internet connection so all it needs is a suitable "server" ....

I am confident someone can get the PLi image to do it...somehow...

Make sure you have the baudwith as it hits round the 120kb/sec at least. sometimes 90 will do. Your looking at a fair few meg a min at that speed

i think i was told by another member on here that 24 hours of watching churns through around 80 gig from memory
so two and a half days watching and there goes my bandwidth for the month and plus i cant get adsl 2 where i live and my speed is never what it claims to be but thats tassie for you
hardly worth the effort for most

If it chews through that amount its not much good to most people unless they have an unlimited account. Even if they did I think the ISP would boot them.

    That is incorrect.
The required data rate and data amount is significantly less.

I have a mate testing it on an ISDN 128/128 connection with satisfactory results.

    I think 80 gig a day is 1mb a second download
I would guess it would be about 8 gig a day
but still thats 4 time my download limit for the month

Before the crash i had subscribed to a thread where a user had posted some beta tv streaming software. I know there's better ways, but the software looked neat and had a lot of channels. I think it was called Jango, or Jengo....i keep thinking jenga.....it started with a J and some of the writing was orange.

Anyway, i wouldn't mind a link if anyone knows what the hell i'm on about.

    Cheers, RHCP.
