I actually found the show funny with some clever angles... but it was a return to the Comedy Show circa 1983.

You could see it was going to get axed before it even started... the first show proved it.

Shame, cos Ben Elton is a very funny man live. Not the first funny/clever man to fail on prime time.

Whilst I do like a lot of Ben Elton's work, I could not watch more than a few minutes before changing channels.
He should be having a serious punchup with his advisers for the show.
If he had total control then it is time to give it up.

Agree - he's usually bloody funny but this came across like some cringe-inducing pommy comedy from the 80's.

I bet Benny Hill will be having a good old laugh at Ben Elton's latest attempt at comedy, although I doubt he can get all the TV channels where he is now.
