    Default No ABC on C1

I had Foxtel installed at my new house, however I'm not getting any of the ABC channels on 12692 V. The other transponders I'm getting about 85-95% signal strength and 80% signal quality except for 12692 V I'm only getting 20% and 0%. I'm getting other vertical channels.

Does this just mean my LNB skew is off??

When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all

I've had that problem for the last year or so. Every other TP is 80%+ except the last one. I haven't really bothered with fixing it as I get my ABC's through D1. Let us know what you find!

I would just call the installer back again?

If you don't want to do that, then maybe try marking the lnb for current position and twisting it slightly while leaving your box on the transponder that is weak and see if you can get it higher.

I'm going to get Foxtel to fix it, I pay for the service they should have it running properly.

I was more interested in the reason behind it.

God I spent 20 minutes on the phone to technical support at Foxtel at work. Who asked me to reboot my STB, which I said I had done lol and then he took for ever to eventually come to the conclusion a technician would have to come around. Anyway someone is coming around on Friday who I'm assuming will just have to twist the LNB. Could just do it myself, but why do that when you already got stung $100 for installation that isn't working properly.

God their customer service is crap. I'm just thankful I don't have to phone up very often. I'm not looking forward to getting the HD iQ. That's going to be nasty on the phone.

I'm sure fox will have more than sufficient resources to deal with enquiries and new customers for HD, esp where it means more $

Anyway a Foxtel technician came out on Friday had a look at my signal quality and strength, remarked that he was surprised I was getting all the other channels the levels were so poor. Went around to the dish spent a couple of minutes adjusting the LNB and hey presto Signal Quality and Strength both through the roof and I'm now seeing ABC and ABC2.

This guy didn't seem impressed by the guy who did the original install.

That's because the second guy is probably the ****up rectification engineer for your area. He probably spends all his time doing service calls because of incompetant installers.
