Default Who are the users who have been invited by UECTECH?

As title suggests, I'm just wondering who was lucky enough to be sent an email by UECTECH as I was not one of them?

Someone involved, please see if it is possible to include Al Jazeera International frequency and PID detail as part of a tuning software update.

Not TVSN or EXPO, since these two are Fox.

    Why not?

I think VAST decoders should have the ability to receive ANY unencrypted channels from any satellite.

seems not too many people want to tell us they have been selected.

Was their any silence clauses that UECTECH wanted the selected to adhere to?

When testing for example say new firmware, we won't be at liberty to say much. It could be testing a new feature that may never be rolled out so no point getting the putters excited. I would guess this is the reason people aren't saying much. We weren't told they couldn't say they are participating though.

It would be reasonable and fair to expect any evaluations for any company to be confidential until such time as the company sees fit for such information to be made public.

    ....and no, I wasn't selected.

Sure, but the tuning update should not include the other stuff on the Al Jazeera Int frequency, just that service, after all - mum n pops don't need pointless 'blank screen' or other blank callsign stuff loading up, Al Jazeera is a legitimate, independent broadcaster on C1 happy for an audience.

Gordon also mentioned NITV, we'd need to check legitimacy of using that as part of a VAST tuning upgrade, in case some kind of restriction by them is desired, otherwise YES, include.

Foxtel could be approached to see if they'd permit APAC channel, as this is broadcast FTA terrestrially in big cities a la Sydney.

What I'm talking about is the 'ability' for the user to scan/input any transponder from any satellite they wish..... manually.... just as you can do with most decoders.

The issue I see here with this is the average punter won't know what/how to do this. Because it's a kind of self help installation/service to a fair degree it's made to be idiot proof. There's no helpdesk like Austar or Foxtel to call if you have an issue plus not even they let you do this with their decoder!

The 'average' punter doesn't know how to do it with 'any' decoder.

However, there are many people who use the same decoder for Aurora, as well as for other sats.

Considering there is no VAST 'card-only' option and the only existing VAST box doesn't have the option of adding other FTA channels, I think it would be great if people had the ability to once-again, be able to have one sat decoder, rather than the need (and expense) of setting up two separate decoders, just so they can get the extra FTA sat channels.

In the example given.... to get one extra channel (ie: AJ) requires an additional decoder and upgrade to the LNB/signal distribution.

The Government is looking after your best interests and it knows what is best for you. There are good reasons why it does what it does for you....I think

I do agree also. Most would enjoy the flexibility of being able to even use one box for all services.

When I suggested NITV could be available on VAST as is it is now FTA on Aurora and Aurora is slated to be closed down 2013/2014 so does that mean they will keep those odd channels for a select (no PUN intended) or are they (Indigenous groups) forced to get Austar in the East and Foxtel in the West to access the channel ??
I wasnt concerned about TVSN or EXPO as they are blatantly Infocommercial programs and that is enough reason to have them included in the VAST lineup to the lack of any thing else.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
