    Default Selling Recs

Just about to get a solar hotty put in
    I was calculating costs
Will need to fork out roughly $3 g for the unit
    Plumber Sparky Materials
Then claim it all back from state and fed
How easy is it to sell recs the plumber doesn't want them.

Set yourself up as a REC's trader ($20 to register) and get $40 a REC through the clearing house. REC's from 2011 are now LGC's or STC's - STC's for small scale renewable energy systems. You may have to wait a few months to get $40 per STC/REC, but better than $34 some installers are quoting. For my 3kw PV solar, installer offered $34 x 185 STC = $6290, I said I'd trade myself and wait and sell through clearing house, then $40 x 185 = $7400 (less $20 to register to do so). So wait a few months, $1100 better off. Your installer doesn't want them as it's more paper works and waiting to get paid, but most will offer something (EcomSmart offer full $40 straight up I believe) to make the up front cost more attractive. Check out for more info on trading STC's / REC's. STC's sold through clearing house is fixed price of $40, sold outside - will paid quicker but less, currently $34/$35.
