    Default No VAST Commercial Channels.

    Hi all.

After sending my first Vast Box back because it was freezing and rebooting all the time, they sent me a new one.

This box appeared to have the same problem as the first, however after the update and resetting to factory defaults, has not froze once ... But thats not my problem.

My problem is I have no commercial channels. By pressing "TV" on the remote, the only bouquet that shows is "ABC & SBS". I have emailed VAST Admin and they said that my card has been activated for all channels. The last box I had was able to pick up all the channels so I really don't know what the problem is.

I am waiting for a reply from VAST but I thought in the meantime I could ask for some assistance from all you! Any input is appreciated.

I'd say your card has not yet been activated. When you sent it back, you would have sent the card and receiver, and I guess, got one of each back. Did you ring to get the card and box activated or do so on the appropriate web page?

Yeah, I activated the card on the net as soon as I got the new replacement box about a month ago... It hadn't been used very much mainly because it was just too painful to watch with it freezing all the time and also the fact that I only had SBS and ABC. I plugged it back in the other day to install the update and has only been on for 10 minutes at a time.

Does something have to be sent to the box for the activation to work? That's really the only other thing I can think of atm.

Thanks for the reply too by the way

I could only suggest you re do the entry for activation online using the NEW card numbers and see what happens and add the old returned card numbers on the application where it asks if you have other ones.
I am sure someone else had a non activation although they (VAST) said it was so the member just redid the application and it came good.
Keep a copy, time and date of the new application and if nothing happens 'soon', sorry but your back to ringing them but not before taking 2 asprins.

I was just rereading the origonal post and I thought if the STB was left on 'Standby' and NOT turned off at the power point, any 'Updates' OTA should have been received when ever they were sent.
If it was turned completely off for long periods could be one cause of the problem.
