    Default New Xbox1 Problem

I have here a new xbox 1. I have just put a duoX2gs chip. Now when I plug the unit in it turns on automatically and it will eject the tray. If I push the eject button to make the tray go back in, it does nothing. Also the power button does nothing either.

Any ideas as to what could be wrong??? I have installed a fair few of these chips and all has gone well. Besides this 1 for some unknown reason.

The unit is a 1.6. I have used the rebuild board and wired it as to the duo spec sheet.
(DO) wire from chip to rebuild board
(BT) wire from chip to the top left pin on eject button. (Thats looking from the back of unit and right way up.)

Unit had no problems with power or eject button before. Like I said, its new.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have had one dodgy chip that would just eject the draw and nothing else
Have you got another chip to try ?

Ok, I`ll try another chip and see how it goes. And will post the outcome here.

Im not familiar with those chips myself but it does sound like a bios issue on the chip. Are the chips flashed already?

Pretty sure they are. Never had to do anything to them.

Ok, I have just tried another duoX2gs chip and it still does the same. I also have just tried a Aladdin XT chip and it still does the same with that aswell.

Try it with out the chip thats if you still have HDD for it
Maybe be solder splash or just hooked up the wires to the wrong point
I once left a screw down the bottom of the case then stuck the mother board back in on top of it Doooh

Yer I would remove it and check its all ok without the chip and rebuild board and then try again if all is good.

I just removed the rebuild board and chip but left the pin header. All works fine.
I rewired it all this time using wire (not the rebuild board) and still the same crap.
    Any ideas???

I will check back here tommorrow as i`m gonna call it a night now before things start to fly in this confind space.

Thank you to everyone how has given advice, much appreciated.

Ok, once again I have taken everything back off. The chip, rebuild board and the pin header. Now when I plug it in, it will automatically turn on and eject tray. The eject button wont retreive the tray and the power button wont turn the unit off.

Any ideas on what might be wrong???

Its starting to get the better of me now.

sounds like you have a short or oc somewhere
disconnect the front board and see if it boots by itself
if it still boots the problem is on the motherboard
either around the lpc or the resistors where you connected the aladdin

I have disconnected the front board and nothing happens, which is a good thing.

    Any ideas now?

I have just pulled the whole thing out of the casing. I have now got it to work properly with the motherboard, psu and dvd drive sitting on the bench.
There wasn`t enough solder on the eject pin (I think). All I did was pull every thing out and add more solder to the eject pin where the BT wire for the Duo goes.
I will now add the mod chip to it while still on the bench.
I will let you know how all goes.

    So far so good.

All is good now, Just placed the Duo back in and all is sweet. Works like a dream.

Thank you all who have given advice/ideas.
    Much appreciated.

pak idiot... I like that I think mine was better though... dont you? [the pm's you sent me after this would suggest that you agree ]

but seriously...installing mod chips in xbox's is not exactly rocket science... anyone who can hold their dick still whilst having a piss can sus out the soldering -- and sometimes you get the odd install that wont work... and as mickc said he mustve shorted the eject switch, thats all

obviously min has some idea though....he made the install work.

ramrod & pak_indo, please take your crap elsewhere. If you two are so good at modding, like you both think you are. Why didn`t you offer an opinion???

Take your petty arse comments elsewhere. I dont wanna read it and i`m sure others dont either.

    Cheers.
