Default Gospell Receiver - Need Firmware

12 months ago, I bought a 'Gospell GSR D33 FTA Receiver'

Never heard of them. Has some nice features (blind scan etc). Didn't get a manual. No big deal, but do you think I can find any info on them.

Here's what their website tells (in brief):

GOSPELL is also the leading company in satellite TV industry and is the biggest manufacturer in satellite TV receiver and products in China. We have developed many advanced technologies and High-frequency microwave equipments which have applied patents.

(They're not just microwave either, OK. Didn't fall for that one)

    Biggest in China!!

Why cant I get firmware downloads, pdf manuals, user codes etc??

I'm having a minor problem with the video flashing on/off every 5 secs. There aren't any 'basic' menu settings to change output (Pal, NTSC, Secam etc,) So that's why I think there's gotta be a 'secret menu' for setup.
The menu I access has only LNB settings and Channel setup/scan. As well as Blindscan.

I've scanned C1 and have all channels. Can see NITV, TVSN EXPO etc.

    Any info would be appreciated.

I have their crap website. There's nothing there to download.

    Cheers, Saintaholic

have you tried emailing them? I used to get a few things direct from divitone/champion etc, and they were always real good in supplying me with additional updates on software.

Biggest manufact ... this often implies that they are an OEM ... this is why there is no specific data or firmware for your box ...

... OEM boxes normally come with generic frimware and a SDK for the OEM'er to put their logos or variants in the firmware. Some do a good job and take a 'lead' role in further firmware development - others just rebadge - but not have any firmware development - hence no new releases.

Best is to try to find some other companies who OEM'ed your box and see if they provide any further firmware releases ..

    Hope the above is useful

EDIT: I only passed on my experiances with similar - but I don't have any of these 'boxes' - so can't assist with any pics or menu dumps. I suffest you try your friend (google) - search for some keywords relating to the receiver you have - the look at what comes up - if the keywords were 'hit' - you will see several manufacturors - with same looking product - you then found them

eyesee is on the correct tangent...maybe he could post some menu screen shots and some of us may recognise the software?
