    Default partition a h/d

    Hi all,

I need some advice on how to go about this?

I want to partition my hard drive so as to allow to me to have a dual boot of Win xp & Win 98, I have done it once before but I have forgotten how to it which isn't a big problem?

I have a spare pc which i' not running at the moment and all that is needed to get this running is a h/d, is it just as easy to get this second pc running with win98 rather than going through the process of partitioning my current pc where I know I will have some teething problems?

also are there any programs available that will help guide me through partitioning my current pc should I go down that track?

    any advice is greatly appreciated

I would go with 98 on the separate pc as you will need to have your partition fat32 to be able to be read by 98. I know xp can read fat32 but most xp computers are ntfs and converting ntfs to fat32 is a pain.
Remember to watch the size of the h/d in 98 if you get one for the spare computer as it can have issues with some motherboards....a search should be able to tell.

if u want to do it on 1 drive
boot to xp cd, split the drive, do 1 with ntfs, install xp
once in, format the other partition with fat 32
    install 98 on it.
