    Default iGo Primo loses audio

    I am running iGo Primo 9.2 on a WinCE chinese double din unit and occasionally I loose audio. the gps application mutes all audio, including the radio in the background.

    Power off on via the front panel doesn't fix it, whole car off and back on does.

    This obviously won't work on route.... any one else had this or suggest a fix?

    Sounds like an issue with the navi unit?
    Is there a button to turn navi sound on on front top right of panel/
    Should of said, what unit is it? Pic?

    Hi Bazzle01,

    Here is a of the unit so people can see what I am running.

    Other navigation forums I am reading suggest there are bugs in Primo 1.2 in relation to audio and speed warnings.

    I believe this may be true as I also run Sygic Drive 10 off the same SD card and have NO issues with audio. Now I am looking at installing and trialing TomTom Navigator.

    I tried iGo8.3.4 and it crashes on my unit. Perhaps I haven't set it up properly. Does the older version worth with the TTS voices and latests maps?

    can you supply the program without maps and saved data so I can try it out. The version I got from another post continues to crash.

    thanks Bazzle01. i signed up on Navi-total forums also for more information. There I acquired a few versions of iGo8 and NavNGo and NOT one of them works on my unit.

    I am about to try Primo 1.1 to see if it has the audio issue like v1.2.

    Here is the crash report from v8.4 -

    The version of Primo 1.1 was actually the Feb9 2011 version of 1.2 that I already have... however it has one, two or three different menu selections.

    The audio still drops out at a random.

    Will try the Bazzle01 version tonight. Cheers Bazzle01 !!

    Thanks Bazzle01... your version of iGo8 works. It crashed a few times and I added content from primo to it but it finally works. There is no TTS audio options but the selected voice speaks. The audio icon on the map page is ok and yet there is no guidance during simulation.

    Will test on drive tomorrow, but lack of audio on simulation suggests there wont be any audio at all. Note, you can select audio and be told to have a nice trip drive carefully.

    The iGo8.2 version in the same folder crashes on main screen and reboots. I cannot get this to run.

    Do you get any other errors besides the ones from crash.txt? Can you post your sys.txt?

    i will pull the sys.txt file tonight. it will be the one Bazzle01 provided as I didn't make any changes.

    I am now running Primo 1.1 (from ######### forum) and it appears stable so far. more menu options and slightly different setup but excellent result.

    i will try to get the application running with data from my primo 1.2 setup and skins soon.

    I have found iGO8 a more useable and visually appealing interface than Primo in 2 din car units. With GJ skins even better.
    I cant see any reason to try the diff version if you get one working and stable.
    Same maps etc still work fine.
    Primo 1.2 still has issues.

    I am yet to find a stable version of iGo that works on my Chinese piece of crap.

    So far, the supplied Sygic Drive is superb in operation.

    iGo 8 works but no audio. Primo 1.2 works but audio drops out. iGo 8.3 or 8.4 doesn't work at all. Tomtom Navigator cannot find the maps and now I am using iGo Primo 1.1.

    So far, three short drives and iGo Primo 1.1 is the best navigation software I have used so far. Will attempt different skins on it to make it more akin to Primo 1.2 and play with the sys.txt to bypass the EULA on startup.

    Have you tried without TTS? Maybe it's not Primo but the .dll's for TTS that are at fault here. And I've noticed that if you add
    Code:
    [folders]
    app="\SDMMC\iGO"
    content="\SDMMC\iGO\content"
    to sys.txt you get rid of those ".....map not found" in crash.txt (adjust the paths accordingly).

    Here is my sys.txt for a 7" 128MB unit:
    Code:
    [folders]
    app="\SDMMC\iGO8"
    content="\SDMMC\iGO8\content"

    [interface]
    show_exit=1
    laneinfo_signpost_enabeled=1
    vga=0
    resolution_dir="800_480"

    [rawdisplay]
    autoconfig = 1
    highres = 0
    driver = "GDI"

    [3d]
    show_guidance_strip=1
    show_guidance_arrows=0

    [screen]
    menu_animation=0

    [feature]
    signpost_coloring=1
    I've read "somewhere" that it's not recommended to have to many settings in your sys.txt cause it will slow iGO down. I don't know if it's true or not. Of course, for your unit, you have to keep in place the settings for memory since it's only 64MB. I'm not using TTS because I don't really have time to read the name of the streets when I'm driving. I'd rather it tells me "second left" and it's enough for me...
