Default JTag - Tarbs STB 3110

Does anybody know where I connect the jtag interface to the stb 3110? I see a 20 pin connector to the left of the board - JP1 & there is also 20 surface "test points" "J10" above the main STi5512A chip. Also if anyone has a copy of jtag i need that too.

    thanks

Thanks mate, I'm worring about trying to solder the interface to the little eeprom, so hoping that there are larger pin outs!!!

    Cheers

    Thumbs up Stb 3110

    Hi Guys
FYI you can force the stb to do a firmware update on I701.
That's as far as I have got for now.
I'll keep looking for those files.
    Cheers.

Does this do anything though...I know there is a force update menu in the box itself...

    Default Stb3110

Not much difference really just makes the box autoscan on I701 and the signal strength meter now works.
Everything is the same ..pin,setup etc.
    Happy experimenting

still the channels dont work on a 3110 (or do they ??), even with a married card.. i believed it died a few months ago and the 3100's were back in play

    is this true ?

I don't know if it is true or not I'm just experimenting with a 3110 and having fun.
The 3110 does a firmware update so maybe it may work.
So nothing to loose have a play and enjoy.

    Default stb3110 Jtag

    Just an update.
I managed to get some free time and built a simple JTAG.
Connected it to the 20 pin connector.
The software i have attempts to read the stb but can't id the chips.
Does anyone have one of the old stb tutorials backed up somewhere?
Or maybe point us the the right direction for software.
    Thankyou in advance
    Keep on experimenting

you need a JTag for the 3110 and a interface called OSLink for the 3100.

    there's a tuttorial about somewhere and i think it's called '3100triligy'.

you will need the right software 'JKeys' version 2.9 which can be found on the net.

    Backup everything first..the 3800 - Flash 1(29LV160) & Eeprom.bin

The CRC algo is going to be the hard part, and i can't remember how to calculate it..its been years and i had help from Mosc007. (just a little) lol

    Good Luck.

    Default Stb3110

    Here's the story so far...
I was playing with different software and managed to corrupt my flash file.
Now it does not switch on.. i did a backup of the firmware.
If i reload the original firmware the lock light stays on and the standby light flashes.
Well its a good way to learn..More research needed.
    Stay tuned

Managed to restore the box back to normal.
See upload file for software and layout of Jtag

If you set the ird to model 3800 it seems to work fine.
Thats it for me this weekend im out of time.
