    Default VIX 2.1 Backup Image for Vu+Duo

    This is a Vix 2.1 (uses openpli core) back up image for the VU+Duo.

    Feel free to download it and give it a try. So far I've had no bugs/crashes or anything like that. If none of the below configs suit your setup just change whatever requires changing.

    The image is setup from scratch using the following configuration:

    Vix 2.1
    Res = 1080i
    Langauge = English
    Network = DHCP
    User = root
    Pass = vuplusaus
    Skin = MagicHD
    Softcam = Mgcamd 1.35a set to autostart (config examples in usr/keys/)
    TunerA = 10700
    TunerB = 10700
    TunerB = Loop through tunerA
    Optus c1 scanned = 537 services found
    Permanant Timeshift = Off

    Plugins:
    Imdb Details
    Picture Viewer
    Webcam Viewer
    AutoTimer
    EPGSearch
    Merlin iDream
    Merlin Music Player (highly recommended)
    Webinterface = set to port 80 (change)
    My Tubeplayer
    Picture Player
    MediaScanner
    Audiosync Setup
    CrossEpg (fully configured for C1)
    Bitrate Viewer
    Netcaster
    Podcast
    Weather Plugin
    Picons (fully installed)
    Ecm viewer

    To install it:

    Switch off the Vu+duo.
    Extract the linked file to a USB stick and insert it into the front USB slot.
    Switch on the Vu and wait approx 2 min until the LCD tells you to remove and reboot.
    Done!

    Go to menu/setup/system/network/adapter settings to see what your network Ipaddres is.

    Default Another image with the Sundtek USB DVB-T/C tuner installed

    Here's the exact same image except it also has the lower rear usb port activated for the Sundtek USB DVB-T/C tuner.

    Sundtek drivers and control centre installed.

    I must admit, I really liked the VTI image, but I found a few things annoying.

    1: Often the 7 day CrossEPG would dissapear for no apparent reason.
    2: The mgcamd start/stop script was stuffed. Any changes required a reboot.
    3: Didn't like the recording/playback setup. No where near as good as vix/pli.

    Vix 2.1 has handled everything I've thrown at it. Go on give it a try

    Thanks for the backup image warbo, saves me configuring it.

    Ive been using openpli 2 image which i didn't mind but after trying this one i must admit im impressed.

    If any one else tries it and sticks to it there is a patch to change the weather plugin from reading Fahrenheit to Celsius. Thanks to sandery for this patch.

    With PLI when you pressed the "0" key on the remote it would switch between the current channel and the last channel watched.

    Also, if you pressed the side arrows on the remote it would go backwards and forwards between last watched channels.

    Has anyone been able to make this work in the VIX image?

    Hi warbo,

    Go to this folder /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/WeatherPlugin and replace the file plugin.pyo with the one supplied (plugin.py) and restart enigma.
    I backed my original file up just in case
    When you restart enigma and go back into the weather plugin it should be in Celcius.

    Also noticed just then even though i have deleted the original plugin.pyo its been put back by the system and i have both files there but showing celcius, not sure why but it works.

    Ahh righto. I didn't think to try that because when I looked at the .pyo file it was completely different than the .py one.

    The "0" key doesn't work, but the side arrows do - VIX v2.1.2.1 - 2011-04-03

    So they do! I was informed by a trusted source (my old man lol) and I didn't check for myself.

    It uses the google igadet api by the looks. Both locations I've tried are nothing like the BOM website either.

    Yes i find its very inacurate when it comes to giving the Melbourne weather, i wish it would use the bom site for its information gathering
