Jaycar MKII programmer Problems
I built a Jaycar Programmer and for some reason it doesn't work at all? the PC Wont Find it and Not Even GGold edit this is the second tim this has happened it did it yesturday and after a few hours and numerous Windows Reboots it has done it again. any ideas I think its the Laptop I am using it on. it has Windows XP Pro any idea's?

@OP you mention you are using a laptop. Does it have a com port (DB 9 connector like what's on the Jaycar)? Are you using a straight through DB 9 lead?

1: did you use the correct power supply
2: did you use the correct cable
3: did you select the correct com port in the software
4: did you push the button down in the jaycar to set it at phoenix mode
5: did you place the header on the correct pins to set it at 6mhz
6: did you place the card in correctly
use something like fmcard to start with because it will read all cards then once it is established the reader is working then move onto the other programs
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
its all the same as I used only the day before and it worked. again this morning it worked and now its not working again. bloody thing is shitting me as it is I brought another kit as for first one didn;t work and it ended up being a faulty card slot
