Opp's - Just looked at the flyer. I have what must be ALDI's eairlier model this one is new. Sorry

I have one of these and they work very well. There was a review of them in Silicon Chip magazine a couple of months ago that was good with the only real problem identified as they draw 15 watt of power in standby mode.

Watch out ALDI has changed the RETURN rules.
Food packet n cans items with 24 hours
Equipment within 30 days, if faulty.n 90days if item still in box.

I bought a Water Tank pump for $129 n kept it
and tried to return it after 4 months, still intact,
because the tank installers gave me a free pump.
Aldi refused to return it, saying that 90days has lapsed.
Even Kmart,Target,BW,Woolies are doing the same.
    'Beware the buyer.

Would you give people back their money if they bought something from you 4 months ago, had the (available) use of it for that time...and then changed their mind?

They are not a free tool hire shop.

If you don't want 30 days warranty on their crap then don't buy it.

Same with food, WTF are they going to do with it once they give your money back?? Sell it to someone else?
Take it home and have staff die from poisoning, time off sick, etc..

The return rules look exactly the same to me. Why would you think that you could take it back 4 months later when there is a 90 day policy ? Thats not changing the rules , thats YOU trying to change the rules.

You cant blame them just because you didnt get away with it.

Just a thing for those buying an HDMI stb, to think about.

I have a plasma that only has DVI in....not HDMI

On guidance I bought an hdstb box with HDMI, rather than DVI out, as I was advised that all I needed to do was buy a HDMI to DVI lead, and all would be well. If down the line, I went to a HDMI panel, then just change my lead.

So, did just that...but no go.

If your panel only has DVI, you need to make sure it is High Definition Copy Protection ( HDCP) enabled. It is likely, if yours is not a newer panel, the DVI input will not accept the HDMI signal out of the stb, as it cannot enable the "handshake", and will not work. I had to end up using the composite HDMI leads to get my 1080 picture.

So....I hope this helps those choosing their stb if their panel only has DVI input.

Only guessing Hugh, but one would think with an HDMI input, it should be ok.

Just look through your manual, or via the manufacturer web site if it has HDCP enabled on the panel.
