When it does it will be visible in the sky during the day. At night time it should be spectacular. If there is a sudden burst of neutrinos seen by observatories coming from the south, chances are it will only be hours before it's seen.

It's coming Tytower. If you want to know where to look, just find the Southern Cross, and it will be about 20 degrees further around the celestial south axis.
At the moment it's just a bright star, but when shock wave arrives... you won't really need to be told where to look for it.
The shock wave could arrive in the next hour or then next century.
It's my guess from it's behaviour that it will be sooner than later.
Sometime in the next 10 years would not be an unreasonable guess.

Just watching a bit of the Nat Geo channel tonight.
I am shock to hear them mention that after the Northridge earthquake in the 90's (Los Angles) there were a lot of wide spread blackouts. People contacted the observatories to ask them what were the strange lights in the sky that they were seeing.
After some confusion, the observatory worked out that they were seeing were... stars.
