I have never seen a protected gold card, so what makes you think it is?
Have you programmed the hex on the new card, as that has to be done before you put the data on?
I have not used a usb programmer but they all work similar.
Hi Guys,
Any ideas on how to copy or clone a protected gold card ??
I am using the Infinity USB card programmer..
Cheers

GGedit will read a protected card via a phoenix.
KK
1: get a blank gold card
2: program it with
a:GFGold v2.2.6 Dual No Updating Coco.hex
b:GFGold v226 eeprom.hex
3: get a coppy of ggedit
4: put the working gold card in
5: select read
6: select save
7: dont close it and now put in the one you just made
8: select read
9: select load and load the file you just saved
10: select write
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
Gold cards can have protected Pic's and earlier codes used a loader to go through the pic to read the eeprom, so becareful you could stuff the code on the card, if you are lucky enough to pull the details from the eeprom, then you can reload the pic if its a common code like Ghost Gold, otherwise you have lost the lot
anyone have a copy of GGedit haveing trouble finding it?
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
thanks fan its great to see there are so many members out there willing to help cheers
Thanks everyone for the replies..
I'll try to answer all your questions.
With the infinity usb software, when trying to clone the card, i get an error message that states: card is code protected and cant be cloned, so thats why i asked about a protected card.
I have had a look at various software and most of them dont have the option for a USB. ggedit doesn'y have the USB option as far as im aware. Maybe i will have to buy a serial cable to connect.
I have read that when reading the eeprom, it will delete it. Now i dont want to do this as i dont want to delete the card. My question is, when it reads it, does it save it to my pc so i can write it back on the card ?
thanks again for your help.
first you need to dertmine the code that is used on the card
anything other than ghostgold you will have problems
try to get some comms to the card and read some details
then maybe someone can help you
cheers,
can anyone help and point me into the rigt direction as to where i can get ghost gold ??
its in that file i posted before
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
hey their you dont need to buy a serial cable as the usb infinity unlimted can emulate one, i have that same programmer
in the software click tools then VCP or Virtual serial port and then just use the default settings
that will allow the used of GGEDIT and FMCARD

as I said never seen a protected card and don't think there is if you have a problem pm me and I'll send a card
Hi everyone....
it seems i may be wrong as it may not be a gold card after all..
The card is white in colour with a gold chip..... sorry for the confusion, thanks badass for the tip !!
Badass there is definatley protected cards, its done with the fuse option
White card then 99.9% Gamma card, no one has made it public if it can be copied, as far as we know it cant be done only by the sellers who sold the card and most sellers are known as re-sellers they dont make the card just sell it
