Portable Camera Tester's - PTZ and 12V
Looking at buying a portable CCTV camera tester but can't decide which model. Prefer to buy one with PTZ also and if possible a 12V O/P. Have seen a few different models around but like to hear some opinions from those who use them.
Ebay has a few but a lot from China but can buy a power pack locally, just interested to hear what's preferred. Budget under $400 also.
Cheers.

CSD are selling these now. I had a earlier model with a few options missing and it was fine for general use. ie no 12v output.
LCD was small about 6cm, but decent res so 99% of the time you could focus the camera locally off it and once put onto a larger screen it was fine.
Basic cat5 wiremap function, call/set presets etc.
I made up an adapter for the wiremap port that let me do a basic test on just 2 cores as well.
Only issue I ever had was occasionally you would stick it on a cable and get no picture if the input signal was low. Had this with other LCD screens as well however.
I'm pretty sure it was about $380 but I could be wrong, don't have a catalog with it in.

I have an all in one DMM, test screen, PTZ controller, cable tester, signal strength meter, colour bar generator with 12v output. The best tool ever put into the kit. I'll post the model number when I drag my sorry arse out of the lures of the south west and attend the office again on Tuesday. I actually bought it from a trade show in china and it's been bloody fantastic.

I own a.
I love the fact it has a signal generator built-in.

Should have mentioned the one I linked too has a signal generator as well.
Plus an input to view RS422/485 data that was handy a couple times

hmm, couple of options there, have to chat with wife (finance minister) and see which one I can get, fairly new to CCTV so for myself but hoping work will get a unit like Rapport II, been using mate's wrist one from Jaycar ($100) but need to carry 12V battery around in the scissor lift to focus the new camera's before cutover, very handy though considering daily hire rate scissor lifts. Work with customs with PTZ so need that feature.

RAPPORT III..... The only way to go in my opinion... This is the new improved version...
Still for IP you need a HD Laptop or you are wasting your time.
Rapport III / Rapport III-Pro
•Color CCTV field monitor
•Video Singal generator
•PTZ protocol analyzer
•DIgital multi meter
•UTP Cable tester
•Video recorder
•PTZ Controller
•DVR mode (Rapport III-Pro only)
... Look for Rapport on the left....

The uniquely numbered remote cable testers are a great side bonus too, 24 of those little beauties and no more back and forth to the patch panel.
