Default SM Bus controller & USB controller issues?

Hi all, I'm having issues with the SM bus controller & Universal Serial Bus, both of these don't appear to be working correctly, in device manager both have yellow question marks?

SM bus controller - I have tried to resinstall, install drivers, the system cannot find any drivers either on the xp disk or the net, and same happens with the USB controller?

there doesn't seem to be any noticeable hardware or system conflict at the moment (fingers crossed) but I am worried about the USB serial bus controller - when I double click the error message reads "this device cannot start (code 10)"

I'm running xp sp2......any advice about this would greatly appreciated

Unless anyone has a better idea, firstly try to reinstall Windows over the top. If that don't work, you will probably be better off with a fresh Windows installation.
