you should get ADSL filter with new modem ..
Hi all,
Just a quick question which i'm sure someone will know the answer to.
I've got ADSL broadband internet at the moment and will be swapping over to Optus ADSL2 in the next few days. i'm currently using the DSL G-604T modem at the moment and i've bought the new DSL G-604T generation II modem which is ADSL II. can i use the same filters as what i've currently got or do i need to get new filters to allow the ADSL II bandwidth?
If i dont upgrade the filters, will the ADSL II connection still work even if its at a slower speed? I ask this because if i do need to get new filters, i wont have time this week but im happy to still connect at the slower speed which is a 512k connection until i get new filters.
Thanks

I think the question is will the filters need to be upgraded or will the original filters do the job. I'm also interested in the answer.
DSL G-604T will come with ADSL Filter that works with ADSL 2+

The Original filters you have should work with ADSL2+.
I have two different types and both seem to work ok.
I would say he has more then one phone port.
I say upgrade the filters to dsl2
or even better and cheaper, a central filter.
