    Default Help choosing

    Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a solution that consists of 4 cameras with a recorder that supports remote viewing across the net.
    Budget is 1k + or -

It's doing my head in trying to find a system off the net to know what the quality of the image from the camera's will be.

The system will be used indoors in a shop, so we would like 1 camera looking down onto the till, 1 looking at the door enterance, 1 looking towards the back door and 1 in the general area. Night vision would be a plus.

I'm trying to find a setup that will provide reasonable quality images so we can atleast identify someone. i know that we won't be able to get pics of someones dimples on their face etc.

can anyone recommend any systems possibly with some images to see the quality?

i see harvey norman have this for sale at $1650

Would this be something semi decent for my needs?

    cheers

Aceycv8 with a budget of 1K you will only get the very basic of systems. You get what you pay for and for a camera system 1K is bottom of the chain. With that sort of cash have a look at Bunnings or Jaycar electronics. Neither of which im sure anyone on here would use. And yes Harveys system would suit you. But have a look at bunnings first and compare the units.

    Cool

You are not going to have any idea as to the outcome since they give you no specs on any of the gear. It would seem to be basic entry level gear which could be purchased for less than they are asking. The IR capabilities will be next to useless.

I can do 1 better and supply an AVTech DVR, which I think is by far the best entry level DVR money can buy. Has smartphone capabilities and comes with a burner. Does the Hardly Normal or Tricky Dicks one have a DVD burner?

I notice they only supplying 250GB HDD - Mine are all 1TB.

They are more than likely 1/4" cameras, which cost US$15. Just screams quality.

    I would save my money.
$1000 might cover the cameras if all lighting is consistant and internal.

You and I would. However in reality inferior products on the market will take precedence over quality products in the current economical climate.

not to step on any of the install pro's feet.

but aceycv8 if you do decide to go for a jaycar system give me a yell and I can do you a good price on it. I don't know much about the quality of the system though.
