Well we will see what happens in the future and it is true that some providers are using hardware pairing especially for HD channels.
I have been warned for a very long time from people who's opinions I value, about the nasty tricks NDS cards could hold. However today you are watching a black screen with your non official box but I can still see many packages including both SD and HD channels on Sky Italy, Germany, and UK.
I have not heard of any UK cards being stopped by ECMs (yet) if they were running with EMMs blocked they failed on return to original box for updates. Although there have been no reports of this happening for some time.

Sky Italy cards are being flushed in small groups at a time. There won't be many operating cards left by now that work with Oscam.
Pretty much the only SkyIT cards working for now are the old first generation 0919 cards (similar to our bluey 090B cards), but all the NDS v2
093B and NDS v3 09CD SkyIT cards have been progressively killed off. There is no option but to use them in provider boxes if you don't want them killed.

Again, the new counter measures haven't been rolled out to the UK yet. When they do you'll know about it and you won't be so cocky to claim all is well in the UK. Oh, and please do some more research on the SkyIT changes before posting more guessing. The cards aren't failing because entitlements have run out. Even brand new cards are dying within a day of being used with Oscam. The new software in the cards is specifically checking if the card is in the provider box and a customised random ECM packet is triggering the check which kills the card if it fails.

You're confusing me with an NDS employee. That is their workplace attire.

Depends which way you're looking. All this time and no change to the blue cards.

Could it be a simple as that the Box ID is now changed from the standard hex keys to something more, like maybe 16 hex keys using a different scientific calculation.
The orange cards would probably be able to handle this change whereas the blue are not.
    Just a thought

Your thought disregards the fact that the blue cards were initially switched before being switched back. So probably not.

Thats true but as soon as they were they had troubles with the blue ones not working hence they did a quick change back to original.

I think it has to be something alittle more simpler than what they want us to believe.

And the Box Id key is a simple one to change to a different calculation.

We all think that it must be something major and it might just be this simple.

anyone care to guess if i were to ring f*x and ask for one of two bluey (std) boxes to be upgraded to IQ, would they leave the old box with the blue or would they orange that too?

(i'm trying to hedge my bets here to appease SWMBO)

I don't think they would touch the 'other' box that you aren't upgrading. If they do just say no you are happy with that box and it is setup how you like you don't want it touched.

The installer is being paid to upgrade one box and that's it. They get paid little enough without making extra work for themselves.

I had my IQ box upgraded to an IQ2 box and had a standard box in the bedroom and the foxtel installer put the IQ box which was being removed into the bedroom and removed the old standard box. Unfortunately i was not home and the wife had assumed this was what i had organised. If only i knew then that orange cards were not going to work in dreamboxes today i would have rung up straight away and demanded they return my standard box with bluey. What they did was disable the IQ functionality and now call the IQ a standard box. Too late now to ring up and ask them to swap it back i guess.
