Now that they've implemented the modified ECM on the 090B stream and got operational firmware running on the older more vulnerable boxes it should be a lot easier to reverse the algorithm and identify the extra keys being used.
The action today was needed to implement a fix to reverse it.
Plus now there is more motivation to work towards that goal ;-)

The diminishing quality in content and visual quality of Foxy channels however is working against that motivation.

Unfortunately, while it may be easier to get a dump from the older boxes, if it is done it probably still won't help with the fruities, because I'll bet they have different modification algorithms for the 096c than they do for the 090b. They wouldn't be that sloppy.

Just for info. I haven't used my Fuxbox for months. Put the bluey in and instant pictures...so the firmware was already there.

Yes, operative firmware has been there on some boxes ever since they tried the changes back in June, but I believe it was the UEC decoders that had glitches and needed totally revised firmware to be uploaded to the box to work glitch free.

I am also experiencing problems with Opts card with DM500C and DM600S. everything just stoped. had to call opts as the genuine box would not work either and they made do a firmware update to the opts box and it is now working however DM still can only get TVSN.

I have tried rescanning channals to with no resault. is this a CCcam issue, mabe the encription protocole has been changed?

It's the exact same problem as orange 096C cards with a new additional encryption step required to convert the DCW's returned from the card into valid DCW's. A 5 month delay was needed to fix STB glitching when the new algorithm was implemented in the 090B ECM streams.

A revised softcam version can include the new post-processing algorithm, but you need to extract the key(s) from your official box which can be easy or difficult depending on the STB model.

i couldnt give a flying fcuk. already packed up the original box and card, havent even bothered plugging it in. will cancel my sub. not worth wasting my time viewing their shit. better off without it all anyway.

If it wasn't for the fact that i pay fcuk all for the box - due to multiple room (thanks foxtel) and sharing multiple boxes with family members mine would be in the bin aswell.....

Just heard that friend of a friend with old UEC DSD1000 had blank screen on several channels yesterday & got nowhere with pox support. Apparently they were saying that nothing had changed on their end, so his eqpt must be faulty. Then he turned on box this afternoon & no pictures. He again got on to pox support & they again wanted to send someone out. He finally demanded to speak to a supervisor who eventually got him to check the f/w version - seems he turns the UEC off at the power point when not watching it, & the box was running the old version. The supervisor triggered an update & within 1/2 an hour the pix were back.

Thanks JGM - that just re-enforces my findings as per my tests that i carried out today and posted on p43 (#841) of this thread.
