Foxtel changes affecting third party receivers

The changes have been made to 4 transponders as of now (2 transponders per day......1 HD and 1SD transponder per day):

got home and the dreambox running oscam did not provide pictures for Fox Sports 1HD and Fox Sports 2HD, hooked up the provider box which I haven't used for over a year and same thing no pictures on Fox Sports 1HD and Fox Sports 2HD, after 15 mins the provider box did a software update and now pictures works for Fox Sports 1HD and Fox Sports 2HD, so it seems to be some type of software change.

Now that it has started working with the STB does it work back in the dreambox?

I think you will find his STB got the update to get pics....not the card....

Same problem with Scam. The only explanation is that the DCW's are being tweaked because processing otherwise is normal and being accepted by the card with valid entitlements. It's strange that entire transponders are being changed over sequentially rather than a channel by channel or all at once basis.

The Europeans are going to be eager to discover this as it will affect BSkyB, SkyItalia and SkyNZ in time. We're just the guinea pigs.

I'm amazed that we are the first to get this, as there are MUCH larger NDS markets in Europe and the US.

I think you will find his STB got the update to get pics....not the card....

So if my STB is plugged into the LNB, but has no subscriber card in it, does that mean it hasn't been getting updates all these years?

It's obviously a Foxtel tweak key software mod. Aus* did the same thing on 20/4/2008. That's why only some transponders are done so that any decoder without the recent software update can be updated. I wouldn't expect Foxtel to use the same DCW alteration algorithm as Austar.

It will still get the update without a card (i think)...but he said he hooked up the provider box...

Not much point. It's got nothing to do with Oscam. They don't know the algorithm used and you can't just JTAG it like you can with an Aus* ADB decoder.

Good luck reading the code from a Pace box. Fox doesn't use exploitable ADB STB's.

As long as Aus* is around it might be possible to reverse the code by comparing the difference between valid DCW's coming from a tweaked Oscam Aus* card and what is being delivered with Fox cards now. As long as you have a large enough pool of CW's to compare you can reverse the difference.

So what you are saying that they have changes card/box marriage algorithm. If you read on oscam forum there was a few similar situation posts.

What do you mean by "the first time"? Fox has never done CW tweaking before.

I mean the encryption was emulated the first time, they can once again emulate whatever the box is doing.
