FYI: This is the .apk supporting 320x240 with iGO content (no AUS content, no sys.ini)
Those looking to tweak the sys.ini with a skin that supports speedcams including sound and warnings, visible warning, distance, warn when speeding should google: [AND] Skin for iGO My way™ for Android 800x480_motogis
Obviously, 800x480. And many further tweaks/enhancements.
Have fun.
link dead....
Link works fine for me.
works for me- thanks sanity.
As a newbie to Android phones I cant work out how to get this to run.
There are no instructions in the readme folder.
I copied Igo folder to sd card and thats as far as I got.
Any help please.
Just copy the apk file onto your SD card and then use a file manager like Astro or ES File Explorer to install it. You were correct in copying the iGO folder first, but you will also need to copy the maps you want into the iGO/Content/Map folder as well as any other stuff you want such as POI's, Speedcams etc. The setup is exactly the same as any other version except that the app itself is installed on the phone, everything else is on the SD card in the iGO folder.

um...So is the igo version the best option for aus nav on android without data connection?
Is there an updated or repacked version (240x320) for complete noobs? (map, ini (?) etc).
I'm fairly sure we can also run Ndrive 10 and maybe Copilot, but not quite sure how.
is Igo the best aus nav non-data solution for now, or are there alternatives. Also, what's this skin/ini file business you guys speak of (for complete noobs, maybe a repack ?)
What about co-pilot and maybe ndrive?
Hi,
Thought this might be useful.
I have this running on my HTC Desire (should also run on others like samsung galaxy)
Extract and copy the iGO folder to your SD card, add content (map, building, poi, voice...etc)
use Astro file manager to run the APK file.
cheers

I think I have this going, but any ideas where to get files to add in the content folder.
ie maps, poi, etc.
I have found 2 maps which work Australia Q11 & Australia R17.
But not sure which one to use.

The R17 map is Sensis, the other is a Navteq map. The latest versions available are Sensis R18 & Navteq 2011Q1. As far as which one to use, it depends a lot on your own preferences and arguably where you live. Some find Navteq best, others Sensis. The Sensis maps generally have better speed limits than Navteq.

Thanks
I have found a R18 Map. The files contain .fbl, .fda & .poi.
I understand that I put:
the Aus.fbl file in folder MAPs.
the Aus.poi file in folder POI.
BUT
What is .fda file?
Also in the file package there are files which are certificates PKSC#7 certificates.
called Australia_schoolzones & Australia. (what are these for)
Sorry but I am totally new to Android phones but slowly working things out,
TomTom & Sat TV are more my pet likes.
.
put Australia.3dl and Australia_petrol.3dl in content/building folder
put (extract first) in content/voice folder
put basemap.fbl, australia.fbl and australia.fda in content/map folder
put australia.poi in content/poi
put australia.dem in content/dem folder
this is what im using (with aus 18 map) and it seems to work very well
cheers

The .fda file contains driver alerts and as was mentioned it goes in the map folder.
The PKSC#7 files require a special license and will not work with the standard license. They would normally go in \Content\Speedcam. Luckilly there are alternatives available.

Thanks for the link GAVPK, I have iGo working *nearly* fine on my Samsung Galaxy S2, but have the following two issues. Does anyone know how to fix them?
iGo version: 8.4.2.139242
Places version: Australia R18
Map version: Australian R18
APK version: iGOMyWay_8.4.2.139242_800x480_MotoGIS_V1.5.apk
1. No TTS!
Normal voices work fine, and I have loaded the TTS_LOQ directory from my car GPS but no go (voices appear in the settings and state that they support TTS but they don't work).
EDIT: It I searched some more and found that TTS does not work for the android APK....bugger
2. iGo crashes when scrolling down through the list of POIs (by category) but ONLY when I have a 'favourite' added to my my list. Removing the fav stops the crashing. I can live without having favourites but I would REALLY like to get TTS working. Any ideas?

Hi Guys
Thanks for the links, ive managed to get igo working on my HTC Legend, however the screen resolution is wrong.
Is there anything that will work on the legend ?
Screen resolution i need is 320x480
Thanks
Just put this on a ZTE V9 Mytab android 2.3.4, cyanogenmod 7.1.0 and it works well (not as fast as my CE Asus but fast enough for sure) but the map is not as detailed up here at Nana Glen NSW, some minor streets wont come up in the search section where they do on my CE Asus, probably fine in larger towns, only tried R18 so far. Thanks for the info guys.
