Unbricked now. Was easier than I expected.
Just bricked my xbox 1. Doing a bios upgrade, I flashed a bad bios to it and I do not even get vid output or sound. Now I am more them capable to fix it and have the equipment I need. But I wanted to know how you guys would do it. Chip is a DuoX.
So guys (girls ?) how would you unbrick it ?

Care to share how ?
I will. Not yet. Just want to see what other ways I could of tried it from the smart folks on here. Also give them something to talk about. Forum has been a bit dead lately.

so you bricked the duo2 mate ?
what version of xbox1 was it ?
my guess is that if you bricked the chip and it was not a 1.6 then you simply booted up into the evox or the xecuter bios whichever was the goodbios left on the chip , you then ran the flash again and before you hit the 'go' button you just flipped the switch on the mod
that is generally the easiest way to fix a bad flash on a duo2 mod and a xbox1 that is not a 1.6
waht I do if it is a 1.6 is reflash the bank 0 to evo or a 1.6 compat bios so you can do the same in the future on a 1.6
there are also a lot of other ways of doing this , but to me (and I am probably wrong lol , that is the simplest)
hey covert good idea on a "guessing the fix" thread too
im with ozchips...seeing as though you sussed it in 15mins he's gotta be on the money
duox or duox2
duox hot swap
duox2 as above
I told a lie. It was a accident. My chip is a Aladdin Advance. Not a DuoX. Still a single bios chip but with a socketed flash.
Let see how creative we can get. I had another few idea's. Don't want to spoil them for anyone else.
BTW Xbox is a 1.0 or 1.1
No right or wrong answers. Lets get creative !

hmmm lets see , fun and games
long time since I needed to do anything with the aladdin chips
I reckon you either had a spare one and swapped the socketed chip
you did a hotswap with another xbox mod
you had a programmer for the aladdin
or you simply flashed the onboard bios of the V1/1.1 and then reflashed the chip from there
there are other ways but they are the simplest ones
I agree with ozchips
You can't flash a 1.6 TSOP. All 1.6 have no TSOP.

Spot on the money. Lucky to have another one laying around. I only chip for friends now so I don't have heaps of spare mod chips laying around the place.
Let's run another scenario. Same Aladdin advance chip, I don't have a spare one and I don't have access to another modchip. So no specialized devices. Anyone got a solution ? I have 1 solution in mind. Will hint to it in 24 hours if no one guesses it.

hmm ok again this may not be the easiest way , but I would do it like this
I would flash the onboard bios , the v1/1.1 have a 1 meg bios split into 4 banks , flash a 256k bios onto 1 single bank , dead easy . then run any installer disk and flash the chip from there
ahh no mate , it is a v1/1.1 , so you can do the wire link to boot to only one of the bios's , remember in these they are 1x4 bios's , so you do a wire link to force it to boot form a different bank , You then do the solder points to make it flashable and then run the old 007 save game exploit to get a evox disk to run to get the ip and then via ftp flash the selected onboard bios .
Now it will boot all copies and unsigned code , you then boot the installer disk , tell it to flash the aladdin chip (you have to take away the wire link which will then revert the xbox back to booting the ms bios and the solder blob which makes the onboard bios flashable in the first place)
sounds difficult , but it works , have done it a few times a long time ago
see clear as mud

yeah it was the only way to flash an onboard bios way back when the xbox was a newie mate
also if you had a bios that went corrup you could just do a wire link to force the xbox to boot form a different bank , this only works on V1 or 1.1 though
Installed Duox2 on Xbox 1.6 a while back.
Duox2 only likes EvoX and a very small number titles I have found it can't play. When you install executer2 on the duox2 it will crash part way thought flashing, rendering the duox2 unbootable.
You have to boot up, using your bios flash disc using the other backup bank on the duox2. Then whilst running, switch back to other crashed bank and then reflash with EvoX bios.
You have just recovered the crashed bios and got it back up and working again.
