    Default Kaspersky Internet Security 2012

Just thought I would mention this release as it is different to previous versions.....because it works flawlessly on a single core Intel Atom netbook !

Previously I have struggled to find anything that didnt bog the netbook down with Microsoft's security package being the best but not perfect.

The only unfortunate thing is that KIS 2010 - 2011 keys dont seem to work on 2012 ? Oh well, I am happy to go spend 10 bucks on eBay for a key

It did let me down once only, but I cant remember what it was now :scratch head:

KIS has far less lag on my netbook than MSE.

Just installed it onto an XP system and have done a update. Looks like it has two running files both avp.exe and looks fairly heavy on ram usage whilst doing updates which is fair enough. Once the update is finished the ram usage drops back to acceptable levels.

Usage during scan is higher than with MSE on the same system but I guess that is to be expected considering it's got alot more functions than MSE.

Sorry Mick, must have missed your reply here.

It is especially optimized by Kaspersky to run on Intel Atom processors......you wont see the difference unless you installed it on an Atom (99% of netbooks run an Atom) processor computer.

Not a problem Sanity I knew you would see it eventually.

This version is actually better than first expected after it finished it's big update and a full system scan the overall system usage has dropped back to a good level.

I have noticed that my test computer is more responsive with Kasp than it was with MSE.
