Ask yourself
Hi All,
I have recently softmod my wii and some of the games are working perfectly but some reason when I play discs over 4.43gb they wont load, what have I done wrong.
Installed HB channel 4.01E
ext usb format fat 32 and wbps
installed usb loader gx (game just comes up black)
installed wiiflow (says game is an error when trying to load)
I am very new to this scence and still have my L plates on, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

thanks Urban, I wish he could shed some light..... You are a guru in this area, what did I do wrong... also lets party doesnt work either, I am sure the file size of that is in the 4gb arena....
how are you transfering the games to your hdd
use the wbfs manager and transfer from an iso
Sorry mate, can't help you or I would have in my original post .
Don't do softmods, so i have NFI.
You might need to install some additional hacked IOS files. Careful not to install / delete the wrong ones or you might end up with a bricked console lol.
The only Wii mods ill do are installations. WODE just works and works and works, doesn't matter what the game is or what firmware version is on your Wii or what update you need to do in order to play a game. I bet it'll boot the game you are having issues with, without breaking a sweat.
Saves a lot of time / hassle. But some people don't put a lot of value on their time and sanity lol.
Best of luck with the console
they are original disc, just popping in the dvd and install...
Sainty I dont think I have any left lol Gosh all I wanted to do was put the games on hdd and I am sick and tired of my 5yr old son trashing the disc...I have worked up more than a sweat with this stupid problem grrrrrrm If I didnt still have a year left on extended warranty I think the wode is for me... speak to you in 12 months urban...hehehe

hey TTL
have you tried using usb loader to transfer the game to the usb hard drive - I have done many a wii and I have never experienced a game over 4.43 Gig.
I would also say if you have formatted the usb Hard drive as a fat32 - then this is incorrect too - WBFS formats the drive as its own format - and windows will not see the drive without looking at it through WBFS as the Fat/Fat32 has size limitations
give that a go
cheers

probably more to do with outdated or missing ioses than anything else
there is a program i use called pimp my wii. It searched your wii and updates all the ios's and cios's to the latest ones. (some people say this program can brick you wii, i have never had any problems with it and i've done it on 10 or so wii's)
BTW on newer versions of usbloadergx it does support putting your games on a fat32 partition needs cios 222 but pimp my wii will do that for you. Makes managing and copying games easier as you can just copy from windows explorer.
Thanks guys
Freakee1 the drive is formatted in WBFS.
Hikaru, I really dont feel comfortable in using Pimp my wii because of the bricking issue, but then I have installed priloader so that should bring me back.
The file size of ben 10 is 7.33gb and it also wont play funfair party and that is 5.13gb! hmmmmm grrrrrrrrrrr
I have performed a syscheck ( i sometimes surprise myself with what I can do) and it looks like I have the cios 222 installed.
I have included the syscheck log file so maybe you can see if there is something wrong...
Thanks again for all your help
