Chinese GPS - MKT L512

Hello,

I have one of these cheap GPS units:


Unfortunately the AV-IN port doesn't seem to work. The little reversing camera works when plugged into our TV's av-in port, however not the device. I've tried a different cable and also a different camera on the GPS unit. Nothing shows up on the powered GPS screen when a powered camera is plugged into the av-in port. * sad face * So I'm pretty certain the issue lies with the unit.

Unfortunately I'm heading off on a driving trip shortly, no time to post the item back for a replacement or purchase a new one.

Has anyone experienced similar AV-IN issues? Is it likely something I can fix (bent pin in the AV socket? loose solder?) myself?

I had a quick search to see if there was an available firmware update (firmware controls av-in switch/display?) but didn't find anything. v.13m.050000.101218.128m I thought (possibly incorrectly) that maybe different firmware might fix the issue.
