I have a popcorn hour and I'm impressed with it so far.
It plays everything I throw at it, including blueray iso files.
Also includes native apps and a bittorrent client.
Its fanless so it just quietly sits in the corner doing its thing.
    Good value imho.

I must admit... the WDTV's have pretty insane online content compared to the rest

I am looking at getting a media player - it has been a while since anyone has posted in this thread - would the WD TV media player the way to go still ? (well that is what I sense is the way to go)

Wife had a WD Live, but I found it easier to set her up with a PC and stream stuff across the home network. Matters not what format it is in, VLC handles it. The WD would not talk to my W7 server, despite all permissions being set et. al. and some video formats it did not like, either. The PC works like a charm and can access anything anywhere.

One of my workmates was telling me today that a play station 3 or 4 is the way to go

I am not convinced - A cheap WD Live HD sounds like the best way to go

Use to run XBMC on the first gen Xbox. Now I have two D-Link Boxee Boxes. Just purchased a Raspberry Pi online and will run XBMC on it. Will post the progress when it arrives.

well, I ended up getting a th-p50ut50a, networkable and 3d...

    FOR NOTHING,

it came in with a dark green line down screen (not all the way just 2" in bottom left corner) and was replaced under warranty, oh we "scrapped" the unit...

gota luv being a warranty agent
When I explained to the guy what avatar I wanted, that wasn't what I meant!
