    Default cheap wireless client/repeater solution

    I just found a way to have a cheap wireless client repeater for PC / Xbox ....

    get a wireless router WL-520GC from msy.com.au ( $45 ) . Flash ii using dd-wrt firmwares and you have a wireless client/repeater for your Xbox.

    right click on it, save link as will download the .bin.

    must be a computer problem i recon you should pack it back up in the box you got it in and send it back.

    Tican is running factory firmware on the server and dd-wrt on the client.

    I flashed both with wrt on the msy stock on as server and one as client. For some reason one of the firmware didnt like the box and rebooted on IP change and went to factory defaults. I figure that even though they look the same they dont run the same maybe different hardware. I played around and got this combo.

    Server - is in AP mode



    Client - AP repeater mode



    You can also add Virtual SSID's if you want to extend the client out under another name and increase the signal.

    What's is the issue with wep security ? I think you have to go through a page with advanced features and select either open/shared key options for wep.

    will this work to connect to another network for just the pc or is it a hack for the xbox only.
