    Default What is this insect?

    Found this at the bottom of our pool, dead of course.

    I put it in a jar.

    It looks like a big thick grasshopper,segmented body big antenna, but with one mean mother of a stinger on it's tail. Could it be a scorpion pupae, a cicada pupae...sheez...

    it is probably is a wood cricket.
    It's not a member of the scorpion family with six legs.

    I didn't think it was dragonfly lava because it didn't have the tail which is typical of wood boring insects.
