xbox 360 update problem repair

let me tell you a little story about the little xbox 360 that kept on giving

I found it at a tip store in 2008 , i bought it for $2 , i took it home and got the rrod , sent it away to microsoft after they confirmed it was still in warranty , got it back all repaired, thanks microsoft , went to update the software yesterday after it said to for software and security reasons and wouldnt , i tried all the options, internet , usb ,cd . So i rang microsoft this morning and they said they would repair it again for nothing , not bad for an old 2006 xbox .

I'm suprised they are fixing it and not sending you out a new slim, not worth the effort of repairing an old xbox.

they wanted to charge me $120 first up , until i stamped my feet a bit and told them the problem only arose because of their unavoidable update, then they came around to agree to waiver the charge ,at least i get my working xbox back

I got in touch with them today as they said my box was in the repair part of the process they said my box would not be repaired but replaced with another box , however they did not stipulate what type of box or weather it would be new or refurbished , good news either way

You might be lucky and get a new slim or at the very least a jasper but i doubt they'd have any left.

got a refurbished one in the mail today , good for another couple of years , hopefully some other problem will develop by then so i can get another one out of them

just a quick update , thought i would try my luck with a hand written letter to microsoft australia ( to by pass the the call centre procedure speil) in regards to my other xbox360 they wouldnt fix due to not being a software issue ( bullsh!t) . Had a big dummy spit in the letter and bingo , 2 for 2 , they said they would replace it also , got two refurbished xbox 360' out of them , pretty stoked.
