    Default DM500s clone serial port.

    fixed up a mates serial port over weekend.

    Looks like he has one of those ones that don't work...LOL


    Turned out the ribbon cable was wrong.

    The pins are wired wrong way in the connector by the chinese.
    they are supposed to be wired interleaved, but they did it the same way as a PC comm port which doesn't work.


    Hope that helps someone who doesn't own a breakout box...LOL

    Whish I though of this before all the hassles I had with my unit

    ... now all we need to do is figure out why gamma did not work in the card reader slot

    tried this about 2months ago on one i had here... changing the ribbon cable did nothing... still no good... everything else works fine.

    I only have one that does not work so no point trying to f*ck it yet Plus its under warranty

    lol.. tried the cable from a non working on another batch and it worked first pop... tried working cable from good DM to non working dream and didn't work.

    sometimes its plugged in the wrong way or plug is over the first 5 pins only same goes for the remote sensor plug.
