Call a licensed security tech to come out to fix your system.
Hi everyone, I am a newbie here
Could anyone help me out with my problem, please. I just replaced the back up battery for the Das NX4 and being amateur, I switched the main power off while changing the battery. Now my remote keyfobs won't work anymore .
Any advice guys?
Thanks in advance.

Call a licensed security tech to come out to fix your system.
These things work using a combination of white man's magic and chewing gum.
Provided the the little black box is still connected to the keypad bus, it really should have survived a power up/down.
However you may need to put the panel into installer program mode and exit the installer program mode to make the panel "look" for the keyfob receiver. I'm not sure anyone here would be willing to place this info on a public forum.
If you don't know how to do this a call to your installing company would be in order, they may even be kind enough to tell you how to do it over the phone.
Hope this helps
That's right the following note comes with the kits.
"This product now requires entry to and exit from installers program mode. After connection to the nx panel bus you will need to go to installers program mode for the product to function. Should all power to the nx panel be lost then the receiver will need to be intialised again"
Did you also set the time and date again?
You require the Installed code and go into program mode
*8 XXXX
then ## (exit) to enable the panel to look for the receiver and all work again,
I hope that helps you friend
Why not its readily available.
I didn't post any codes, or do you want me to?
Default code cant hurt anyone, its publically available!
Sir may I attest to your abuse towards myself
i think you are the fool keef. did you see, *8 XXXX. NO CODE. but AST, default code can. if any burglar knows the panels, all hell could break loose.
Therefore the day DAS and our friends @ Bosch and NESS etc, do not give away manuals with the panels they sell to the public, or the many installers that "leave the manual behind" as the client supposedly "has bought it with the system", then I will stop helping people frequenting this and other forums in search of information to save them from the Uncanny mugs in the game charging hundreds of dollars for a simple task.
I'm sorry a company with 10 000 / 50 000 + lines should provide this service to the client at No cost to remove them off their receivers.
Maybe esquire Keef82, can attain this position seeing as though hes so paranoid of anyone having the information to complete his job and starve him of employment!
well I have further work to do kiddies, I cant play all day
looks like the puppet is back to play again.
Welcome Bss904-
Which puppet ? Kermit!
Hes my fav
please disregard my comments, i dont want to start ****. just my 2c.
Having only worked in NSW for a short period of time being a so called licenced tech does in no way guarentee that he is trade qualified (no such thing) or able to carry out most service calls without the help line of his/her supplier.
No wonder people look at sites like this to get anwsers as most licenced techs I have seen do not even have the knowledge to use a multimeter.
Great to see someone trying to help someone else and whom never disclosed a code eventhough some licenced technicians were most likely watching to get an answer as they are still trying to figure out what an EOL resistor is..
Love this industry sure do, stirrer sure am but after a little experience of over 40 years I can handle facts as well as fiction.
Yes RON, thats correct friend,
There currently is NO trade in this industry, Only a traineeship in basic installation available from TAFE.
I agree with the mention of multimeter's and resistors.
Here is one for you,
Only the other day did we have a tech from Commercial security try and take over a system we currently monitor (they offered a better deal to the client, 4 yrs contract, No service technicians within 500km radius) but as it was just expiring out of contract @ $ 49.50 per month, the customer thought it was a better offer at $ 31 p/m. So the tech rings our company for the code, and is told that In no way will they be given any codes and that our technician will attend (for a fee) and decommission and or default the panel.
The technician just wanted the code as he had techsupport within his company on hold on his mobile waiting to reprogram the system.
He was told that the customer was under contract and we owned the system and no codes will be given and that he will be held responsible if he touches the system per the contract with the customer.
A lady from their office calls to request the code and on being told it wont be given out commences to swear at me, and asks why I was being an A** hole. I told her I owed her nothing and if they had of gone about this in the correct manner, they would have been given our full support, as we wish the best for our customers and do everything we can to make the journey smooth so they will one day come back.
In my daily duties I come across the reports of No communication, commencing more investigations into this issue,
Upon realizing a missed test report / failure of communications we contacted the client and advised of this with written confirmation of the balance of the contract and breech, followed with an invoice for the final account.
Now this "other" company has direct debited a Cancellation of contract fee from the clients bank (4 yrs at $31 p/m) without authority.
A phone call was received, and the customer was very dissatisfied as Commercial would not talk to them, refused to hand back the "stolen equipment" and didn't want to know them.
I found out they replaced the system, put a crow pw8 in a mcm can, he's manipulated the thing and removed the siren (horn not siren, because it wouldn't work on his system) and just cut it off, so the customer has no External warning device any longer.
He further removed the D/t from the toilet and as promised to the customer didn't install 2 more detectors and move the codepad, near the new front door. The other lies they told the client are just expected from a sales person only trying to get another one signed up
Nice easy take over for me and now I have their "Generic" install code.
A complaint has been lodged with the local police and will be dealt with.
Asial has been contacted, but this company is not a member.
The OFT and ACCC have also been contacted for unscrupulous behavior and unethical business practice.
Bring on the news LAWS to Queensland, they are very long overdue!
