If your an emergency vehicle driver and you havent bothered to check conditions or alterations to roads, thats your problem and as they have been caught several times with that road, dont they talk to one another or pass along relevant information for others to be aware of the conditions?
But then I have heard the local Police ask for directions because the road had a doglegged 'T' juction and they went passed it, and that was in broad daylight !!!
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

That's the same question I have in mind. If you've been misled by the gadget, might as well take the traditional route and see changes on their own. But I think the thing here is that it's still a long way before we fully rely on satellite technology.

My Garmin use to give me some really stupid directions when i first got it.

On its first outing i was using it on the northern metropolitan ring road heading east, i was heading straight and it told me to take the first exit left, i thought OK a new way.

Took the ramp off, got to the lights, told me to go back onto the freeway......

This continued for every exit i passed, get off the freeway, get back on.

Luckily a map update fixed it, i was ready to just take it back for a refund.

^^^^ Now that would piss you off

Nothing worse, as you want to believe the machine, as it might know something you don't....But then again, its hard to go against what you've known as the right way in your head???

Which then diminishes your trust in the machine

Had the same experience with my satnav. From then on, I just looked at my map or took the exits I knew and got out of traffic better. How do you think can they polish it?
