Default PS3 - GT5 Prologue Download .vs Blueray?

I've been so tempted to just hit the "Buy" button in the Sony Store for GT5, but then it is stuck on my machine only... yet I guess it will probably run faster when accessing data.

Do any of you here have views or suggestion on this?

From what I understand it is the same price either way?

    Thank You

P.S. As a side note, this is pretty cool demo of GT5 with the G25 driving pack

    umm
its $50 retail for the disk
and its not "stuck" on your hard disk if you share your PSN account with your friends they too can download it on there console and play it(like any other downloaded able content on the ps3, ive done this with warhawk and tekken). Me and a few friends have a special account we use for PSN purchases and just share the details so we can split the cost of the game.

Its a pretty awesome game. But if you were spending $50 to download it, i reckon its better spent on the disk. You can probably get it cheaper second hand/pre owned.

    cheers

    Thanks heaps urban_s0ulja,

I never knew that! So does each machine/player have to pay the $50.... or can you download it multiple times? (i doubt it i guess, it's just that how i read your post?)

I have friend to share with, we just got off the phone, he has a PSN account too....

Can you just clarify that for me pls?

And is there any benifit in buying an overseas version of the game? Any better, less censored or something. Or will it just not play on our Aussie machines?

I have an Aussie 40gig, my friend has the first batch Aussie 60gig.

But if it is a share cost/multiple download situation.... Do you need another member? I'm totally shit at playing games, so if someone in your group is sick of coming last all the time, i'll be sure to take their place

    Cheers mate

open up new account with your playstation(account one), sign up for the PSN store and add all creditcard details etc etc. make purchase and download.

sign out of psn store and sign into normal account

on the second playstation sign into your new "purchase" account and redownload the game.
sign out of the purchase account and back into your normal one.

both playsations should have the game in the xmb

you can play against each other

i havnt done this in a while but it did work a couple of weeks ago

Games are typically 700Mb to 1.4gig

Download speeds are very fast for me, as fast as my lame old 8meg connection will go.

Very handy for when your ISP's counters are on the blink, as mine often are
Squeezed an extra 40gig out them one weekend

    depends on the game
most demos are between 700MB and 1.2Gb however this various.
Pretty sure full version games would hit the your quota harder

Okay, i have tried this time and time again, in many ways, and it will not let me log in, just keeps saying Sign-in ID and Password incorrect.

This is what we have tried.

I have my User name as you start the PS3 and my PSN details locked in under that user.

My friend has his User name and his PSN details attached to that user

We can both get onto to the PSN on each of our machines.... no worries.
My friends account has the credit card attached to it.

I created a User on my machine, exactly the same name as on his machine, then i went to Playstation Network sign in, selected "use an exsisting account" enetered his User-ID "email@blahblah", entered his Password being case sensistive.... went to log on and no go... that's when the Incorrect User ID and Pasword screen comes up.

Now my friend is logged out and his machine is pysicaly turned off.

How does your method work urban??

    Am i doing something wrong?

Is it even critical that the User and User-ID & Password be the same as the purchasing account?

Mmmmmm got it to download, but it will NOT work while signed in under any other user name. In fact it won't work even when signed under the "owners" name....

What! What do you think I was calling you a prick? Are you always this reactive?
I'm sure no one else read it this way...............
I was saying "What a Prick" as in SONY!!! And the whole concept NOT working in my instance. And I wasn't saying it was your concept exclusively either. It is all over the web, Master Account / Sub Accounts etc. But i thank you for bringing the concept to my attention. Thus "your solution" in the context of this thread.

In fact it is well documented that War Craft is one of the Games you can not do this on..... As with GT5. But if you have done it, well done.

Purchased the game, when did i purchase the game exactly? I download it via Sub Account, but it will not play under Master Account or the Account it was Downloaded under. Even with the Ethernet cable pulled out, it will still not play under the account it was download with.
That is what the PRICK is.....

I have no beef with you urban... All my frustration is aimed at SONY. Why would I call you prick? Can you please explain this to me? Or is it your nature to put words in people mouths?

I have since purshased the game on Bluray for $40 and it still will not play online or even get online for that matter.... There is a fault in the Update Download (my friend has the exact same problem with his download game)... It is also well documented on the net. This is where my concerns lay... not with you!

I start threads to solve problems and help people.... NOT STARTING FIGHTS

And whom are "People like you?" Do you have something to say?
Don't hide behinds words mate, if you have something to say, come out and say it!!!

So are you saying it's people that don't have answers or suggest solutions and just post nasty comments that ruin this forum?? Perhaps you should look at Post #17 of this thread, is this what you mean?

Did i not thank you enough in my first 3 replys to your suggestion? Because if you notice, i thanked you every time But i guess we don't want people like that around this forum, spoiling it for everyone.

^^^^ More problems with GT5, did anyone else suffer this? This is very poor, does Sony think we are made of bandwidth?

    A possible solution

Seems to best outcome is just to keep trying the download, eventually it works... worked for me on 4th or 5th try
