    Default GPS Newbie Question

    Hi

I want to buy a GPS system for the car for my father. I dont know a lot about the systems and wondered why the prices are so different.

Also I was told that the systems would have to be upgraded every 2 years with new maps and this costs about $200 - is this right? Isnt there GPS system that allows the user to upgrade for free?

Which brand is the most reliable?

    Any help would be appreciated

Personally i would reccommend either Navman or the Tom Tom, even throw in the Garmin havent used this but heard some quality feedback. have used both in the past and found both very reliable, personal choice really.

Upgrades do cost about that price across the board, however i believe you can get map upgrades for the Tom Tom for free via torrents sites could someone confirm this?

Costs vary depending on features, i suggest you vist their site and have a bit of a read to work out what suits you needs.
