    Default Foxtel Problem

    Hello,

I recently moved to Melbourne from Brisbane.

I attached Foxtel and all is working well but I cannot get any free to air channels to work. There is "no signal".

Is there anything I can do because if I call Foxtel they will try and charge me for it.

Thanks for any help you can offer

how long has it been plugged in at the new place? It will need time tio update the latest ch map. I cant remember how often they send it these days but I would give it 48hrs. If that doesnt fix it will be something else. Let us know how you go

You can't just move a cable box between cities and expect everything to work. The FTA channels your Bris configured box is designed to look for have different PID's to the Melbourne ones. The only way your box will find the Melbourne ones is by calling Foxtel and having them remotely reconfigure the STB with the Melbourne cable channel list config. Only an onsite technician has the authority to request it as they need to verify your new location.

Are the channel numbers the same in each state. Is it possible to manually choose the channel?

Apart from the configuration change required, as mentioned, you need to advise Foxtel of your change of address anyway.

The timezone will also be incorrect atm as QLD doesn't have daylight saving.

Yes, all the Foxtel pay channels have the same numbering in each state.

If you mean, can you choose FTA channels from other states.... no.
