    Default Axis and Mobotix

Has anyone had any success integrating Axis cameras and encoders into a Mobotix system?

Specifically, a colleague runs MxCC which in theory can view Axis cameras. Having said that, 'in theory' socialism works... In theory...

Also, can Axis video encoders, which are a good half-way house for upgrading analogue cameras, spit out a signal which can be viewed by MxCC as though it was a camera?

Have searched Mobotix website exhaustively however didn't win.

They integrated Axis in version 1.6 (circa 2007)

"For A Variety Of Camera Systems (Hybrid Solution)

MOBOTIX makes it especially easy to decide in favor of the decentralized, high-resolution video system. MxCC not only operates optimally with MOBOTIX cameras, but also allows you to continue using already existing video cameras from other manufacturers (hybrid solution). IP cameras and even analog, motor-controlled PTZ cameras can be integrated, displayed live and remotely controlled via a virtual or real joystick. The recorded videos of these third-party cameras can also be evaluated and exported at the monitor with MxCC."

Get a decent VMS, MXCC is very buggy and will only crash when you integrate 3rd party cameras...its a good free software but only good cause it is free.

Within 2 months AXIS will be 100% decentralized also...Mobotix is about to get kicked im afraid!

I'm wondering if things have changed and what the current thoughts are about the Mobotix decentralised system. It sounds great and the videos of the latest Mxeasy software look great for someone who wants the software to run on an Apple Macbook and control around 10 cameras. I really keen on setting up this system but would love comments from those who have done it, in terms of were you happy with the final outcome.
    thanks guys!!!
