Default Cost and place for laptop screen replacement and install - Brisbane

I have cracked the screen on my Dell 700m 14 inch screen laptop. I was wondering where in Brisbane I could have this fixed? And how much the replacement would cost?

    Thank you.

Are you sure about the screen size?
All the specs i found showed the Dell 700m has a 12.1" widescreen.
    (not a very common size)
Just call and get someone to quote, but im sure it will cost a small fortune to get done. (probably much more than the cost of the lappy itself)
My advice is to buy the lcd and put it in yourself.
A quick search shows Samsung LTN121W1-L01 as one of the lcd's used in that model, but i suggest you open the lid up (undo the screws etc) & check it yourself (the model info is on the back of the lcd), then search for one on the net (theres one on US ebay now for US $247 + $45 postage to aust).
Then simply un hook the broken one by unplugging it and then plug the new one back in. Its really not that hard, but do a search on the net as there is plenty of info on how to do this.
If you need help there are plenty of laptop guru's here that would offer any suggestions.
    Goodluck

I tried removing the bezel, and there is a weird internal screw or something down the bottom just to the right of the speakers. I think its a screw because I can pivot the bezel about that point. There is not external access to this screw.

2nd problem is that when I went to remove the screen, being able to access it after removing the bezel the top left was REALLY TIGHT. I had 2 screw drivers one thin the other thick handled. Any suggestions on how to remove a TIGHT computer screw?

It will have locktite on the thread, may need a bit of heat, but not too-o-o much heat to melt the lid...

soldering iron tip for a few seconds will do it.

I bought a screen from this firm and latter returned it as the problem was a motherboard fault.

They let me return it no problems so I am happy to give them a plug.

or perhaps these guys in the US

I've bought screens from these guys before and they have been very good and fast delivery too.
