Default The price of Gas at home

Can anyone tell me why Gas costs more to use in winter? Does it cost more to supply? Or is the supplier just greedy knowing that people will use more gas for heating in winter & they can make more money. As far as cooking goes, it makes no difference if it winter or summer, you cook your food because you need to eat.
Learjet..... have you got a few cows handy, i need to extract some methane!

All LPG prices (NSW) increased on the 1st of September as did electricity back in July and I dont doubt Natural gas did as well.
It is an obviously great time to shove up costs as people use more 'fuels' for heat because they have no alternatives available to compete with the costs.
There is a marginal increase in fuel useage in winter for cooking. I found on a standard 49kg LPG bottle, it would last about 5 months in winter but 7 months in summer.
When I had the small coal fired HWS working, in winter it took around 90 minutes from cold to heat the water so you couldnt put your hand in it but in summer it took only about 45 minutes.

Its the same as selling Umbrellas, not a lot of trade in a drought but when the rains fall ???
