Well, VAST Central/Eastern definitely won't take it. Haven't seen anything new pop up on VAST WA transponder, though.

Since the objective of VAST is to provide those with no reliable terrestrial reception with the same digital suite of channels as terrestrial, you would expect that it will be added to VAST soon/eventually.

Are you sure we want it? Sounds like an adformation shopping channel.
    Cheers, Tiny

I know tiny but surely you dont want to deprive those poor souls who have so far been deprived of such a scintilating option not to have the same access to rubbish everyone else has ?
And that inludes the West too.

Yep. Also IIRC, T4 has to, by law, keep the programme in a frame and surround it with text to comply with datacasting regulations. :vomit:

Normally more free TV channels is a good thing, we have recently been through an explosion of new channels, so one more is a good thing right ? Well the reason the other new channels like 7Mate, Go, GEM and One have been a welcome addition to the Freeview OTA lineup, is because the programming has been interesting.

While no channel can keep everybody in a diverse audience happy 100% of the time, generally we can find channels that regularly program shows we enjoy. While the newest Freeview channel – Television 4, is marketed as 4me, covering categories of Shopping, Education, Finance and Lifestlye, essentially it’s a channel loaded with infomercials.

Television 4, or digital channel 64 launched to all homes in Regional NSW, VIC, ACT and the Gold Coast. Those of you in the cities, don’t stress, your really not missing much. Coming up this afternoon is Brand Developers, Surfing Aus, Commsec Entrepeneurs, Danoz and Brand Developers again. Not exactly a stunning lineup for launch day.

Waste or not, they aint broadcasting it out of the goodness of their heart.
Obviously there's money for Prime and the advertisers by running the programs.

If they don't have much audience, advertisers won't gain much benefit and won't continue to pay for it.

My guess is it's an added extra, 'thrown in' as part of an advertising package on the main channel/s.

It will be interesting to see if this new channel is included in surveys.
