Default USB KILLS MY Dell LAPTOP

    I reformatted a Dell r40 laptop
now when i stick the usb 4 port hub I get the Blue screen of death
the same for my Thumb drive
but the mouse works well and also the Bigpond 3g modem
I have deleted all the usb under device manager
    updated the intel drivers
But still get the Blue Screen of death

It is a XP problem as I used Barts PE boot disc
and the usb ports all worked fine

I have searched for the stop error code that you get with the blue screen
    and found nothing
Has anyone had one like this

    Any Help would be great

    Cheers

I had the same problem with my c640.
Pcmcia usb 2 hub. Plug my camera into the hub and instant crash. Plug the camera into the back usb port, no problem.
Camera works fine on all other systems, never did find out why it crashes my dell.
