Copy MapSettings.cfg from your old map folder to the new one for your driving history.
    1) As answered by NRT above, TomTom maps come out every 3 months.

    2) To restore your favorites, follow these easy steps:

    TomTom GO 730, Navcore 9.051c, 64Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5250
    TomTom ONE v1, Navcore 9.170SE, 32Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5244

One other option, especially when using different systems is to export the mapsettings.cfg as a POI file using POIEDIT or similar software.
This way everything is independent from the map or country and easily converted for other systems like Igo or Garmin.

mtv, I finally got to test out my device by updating the latest navcore using TomTom Home. It downloaded the latest navcore 9.430 and I tried patching the navcore.

I got the same error message as you did -that I could not use the map, even after running FastActivate again.

The only fix was a clean install. I saved my map folder, voices and LoquendoTTS folders and copied them across after installing the new, clean navcore from Home. Then I deleted the .dct files from the map folder and ran FastActivate, and everything is running well, better than before.

So if anyone connects to TomTom HOME and downloads the latest navcore update, this can and probably will happen to your device too, depending on which navcore your device had previously. Updating and overwriting files may not work with the latest navcore, therefore a clean install may be necessary.

    For future reference:
It seems that the current version of FA creates a .DCT, but if there already was one it is skipped.
So you can try to activate but nothing changes.
Instead of a clean install it is suffient to delete all .dct files form the device.

    Hi again,
I seem to be having an issue updating my TT730 again.
Tried the latest maps Australia 930.5563 with the Fast Activate from June this year, but my TT fails to allow me to use these maps.

I had to delete all the files off my TT and restore the maps from the previous time (over 18 months old). Luckily I made a backup before I tried them.
These are working again and my TT is back to normal, I guess, but would really like to update the maps.

    Any suggestions please?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hey,
Just want to make a point that if you re-read the instructions, they will work.
I did exactly that, and it worked, but I could only get it to work on map Australia 910...(I think), not 930.

Anyway, it seems to be working now.
Deleted any dct files after updating, and then ran FA.

Just don't know if these maps include speed cams.
Is this a separate file that I need or is it included in the maps folder?

    Thanks,
    BV

Oh, I think I have found the reason.
There are 3 Speed Camera AU files that I need to add to the map folder.
I think if I add those files it will work.
Also, there is a 'mobile' cams folder, can I just add the folder to my maps folder for this feature to be available, or do I need to just add the actual files similar to the speed cams?

    Thanks,
    BV
