    1) Back up your device using copy paste with Windows Explorer

    2) Download the 8.562 SE navcore from the link in the following post:

    3) Unzip the file and copy paste all the files and folders onto your TomTom drive, overwriting any common files when prompted

    4) Insert the new map and FastActivate.exe to your TomTom drive and patch the map

    lemonfish,

what i see from the chart, .3810 is more complete than .3811
if it is more complete, then, why you suggested to use .3811?

*humm there is a problem here mate
after installing the navcore, i paste the folder map .3811 and patch it with fast activate
then, when i unplug the usb connector, the gps keep restarting after i click "I AGREE at LEGAL NOTICE"
    how come is that?

    thx

The 880.3810 map requires navcore version 8.2xx or higher, which means it just won't work with any lower navcore versions. The only map that can run with your navcore is 880.3811.

To try and fix the rebooting issue you're having:

    1) Try pressing and holding the reset button for 20+ seconds.
    2) Delete the file mapsettings.cfg in the map folder.

If they both fail, then you may need to follow the other tutorial:

    TomTom GO 730, Navcore 9.051c, 64Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5250
    TomTom ONE v1, Navcore 9.170SE, 32Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5244

Appreciate the thread the instructions have helped me to debrick my bricked TT One.
I have followed the instructions explicitly in the thread and managed to get the TT one working again although now when I connect to TT Home i get the following error.

    Any suggestions?

I have updated the map to v875.3615 and updated the NavCore to 9.430.890926.2. And I have patched the TT with FastActive. The device appears to be working OK except connecting to TT Home.

To stop the error in TomTom Home, follow these steps:

    1) Open the ttgo.bif file with Notepad
    2) Replace lines 9 & 10 with the following:

    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9430
    ApplicationVersion=890926.1

    3) Save as ttgo.bak
    4) Disconnect. Reboot

I think I might have been a little quick claiming the TT one was working. Everything appeared to be fine but the TT shuts down after a few minutes.
    Have
    Navcore 9.430
    Australia v885.4021
    Installed

Try the 8.562 SE navcore. I have that running smoothly on my TomTom ONE with the latest Australia 885.4021 map with no lag at all. Get it here:

An observation with the current setup ( see my post above).
If the gps is idle for awhile (5 mins) the TomTom shuts down but if the TomTom is on use (tracking?) then it doesn't shut down, or at least it didn't during a 45 min trip this morning. I will try it again this afternoon to see what happens.

    Adrian

I think the TT One must have a timeout due to inactivity, I never noticed this 'feature' before. I tried again on the way home, 45 minute drive, everything worked OK. Left it on the table for 5 mins when I got home and it shutdown.
    Is this a normal thing?

There is an option in the device menu to turn off when external power is lost. Check to see if it is ticked.

If you have it connected to the PC it will shut down after a few minutes to give better charge - you will see a warning before that.
