Exclamation 7 simple steps to update your device with the latest v875 map

To update your device with the latest v875 map, follow these simple steps:

    1) VERY IMPORTANT: Connect your device to your computer via USB. Using Windows Explorer, open your TomTom drive and backup the complete contents of your TomTom.

    2) Check your navcore version. You can do this either on the device menu under Version Info, or you can check the navcore version in TomTom Home when the device is connected to your computer.

    3) Check which map is compatible with your navcore using the latest v875 compatibility chart here:

    4) Delete the old map folder.

    5) Copy across the new map folder into the root of the device.

    6) Download the latest version of FastActivate Premium Edition from the FastActivate thread here:

Unzip the file and copy across FastActivate.exe to the TomTom drive (the root of the device).

    7) Run FastActivate.exe from the TomTom drive, clicking on all 4 options in order, waiting for each to complete:
Update meta, activate maps, patch navcore & home.

The v875 Australia maps you'll need are found below:

Make sure you download the lastest working links from each thread.

    Default Problem with map

Thank you for your very explicit instructions. Only problem is I get a message on TomTom Home when I try to operate my device: "Problem with map. You cannot use this map on this device: Australia-182"
I hope you can give me some advice.
I have a 720 and was running on Navcore 9.026 with Australia map 855.2884. I checked the compatibiity chart, and downloaded map 875.3613, which should have worked on the 9.026 Navcore. I ran the latest FastActivate prog. from the root directory and everything seemed to go OK. TomTom Home then asked if it could download a file, which I accepted.
Off the computer, the device locks on the welcome screen and will only turn off when reset.
The only thing I didn't do was to delete the original map directory. I deleted all files that were to be replaced by those in the new map directory, because I have POIs and speed cameras etc. in the map directory.

    Default Patch TomTom Home

You need to use FastActivate to patch TomTom Home to fix this. When you first operate your device using TT Home it will download dlls. Make sure you close TT Home (fully exit not hiding in system tray) and rerun FastActivate. This will patch the dlls.

You may also need to temporary disable antivirus software as some give false positives. Also, if you are on Vista or Win7 run FastActivate in Administrator mode.

The error message usually indicates that it wasn't patched properly or there is a problem with the map (eg. corrupted map folder). Run FastActivate again and do as Durden says.

This could be the main cause of the problem. Instead, you should start with only the new map, exactly how you downloaded it, without all the extra custom POIs. Only then if your device works ok, then you can copy across the POIs into the new map folder. Don't forget to patch the cameras.

The "device locking on the welcome screen" is a well known issue caused by the mapsettings.cfg file. Either simply remove this file from the new map folder, or preferably follow these instructions below to save your favorites and other settings:

    TomTom GO 730, Navcore 9.051c, 64Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5250
    TomTom ONE v1, Navcore 9.170SE, 32Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5244

The following steps will fix the "TomTom HOME Profiles DLL Not Found" error:

    1) Run TomTom Home.
    2) Go to the Operate function. This will create the .dll file needed for step 5.
    3) If prompted to do so, download any files it asks you to.
    4) Shut down Home.
    5) Run FastActivate and now you can patch Home.

Default Tom Tom on WinCE 5.0 - fastactivate error

I am using a LG LN500 GPS (win CE 5.0) with TT 7910 and Aust map 830 2290 all fine.

Trying to upgrade the map to 875 3316, but when running "fastactivate" I get an error message "'fastactivate' is not a windows CE application"

    Any help would be appreciated.

This tutorial is for TomTom standalone devices only, not for WinCE devices.

Unfortunately no. We cannot crack the new devices. Read the following thread to find out why:

    TomTom GO 730, Navcore 9.051c, 64Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5250
    TomTom ONE v1, Navcore 9.170SE, 32Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5244

Thanks for the great post and easy to follow instructions. Searched all over the place for Aussie maps for my brother who is soon to fly out there from the UK. The only hiccup I had was that I forgot to delete the old map first so it wouldn’t recognise the new map until I deleted the old one. I also used the navcore & FastActive to upgrade my own old TT1 with the latest UK map and that also works a treat so thanks a lot for this.

Shouldn’t be a problem mate, I’ve just updated a couple of tomtoms. updated new maps on one sd card then simply copied the contents of that to another sd card to use in another unit. Only thing I had to do was delete the ttgo.bif file then start up the unit so it creates its own ttgo.bif file then run the fastactive and jobs a good’un.
