dreambox 500s help.
gooday ive setup my dm500 and its search and found the satelite chans (optus) but it wont give me pic and sound. only black screen. any help? btw no cccam as i couldnt download it.(couldnt resolve the blue-planet domain). any help or possibly someone upload it. thanks.

you are better off to install a "ready to go" image, first get pics, then learn about it....

hey guys,
i was able to install cccam 1.7.1 which all my other friends have and found the channels and most have black screen except AURURA channel (advertising) came up.. any ideas?
Yep you are set up free to air only, and the black screens need a sub card. So as was mentioned to you above by fandtm666 dload Z80's image, no card required.Originally Posted by ibbz101

ughh i noticed that dreamUP uses serial cable which i dont have; is there is flashwizzard images anyone has to share??
word of advise you buy a dreambox make sure you go out and get a null modem cable as well.Many times i have seen network flash's play up for many different reasons and the only way the unit could be brought back to life was with a null modem.

null moden works treat for me.... even though it take for ever to uplaod as Iam waiting i can see an extra grey hair appear on my head but yeah works a treat.
Chieflets
invest in a null modem cable.
flashwizard will let you down, particularly when going from a maxvar image such as Gemini to a non gemini.
