    Hey all,

    1= F**tel
    1= A**tar ?? (cable & wifi O**us digi sat svc )

can these be wiped & re programmed to then be useable at all ??

even if its a replacement goldie

OR are they just bits of plastic that should be thrown in the bin ???

This question should be in the MOSC section I think but I myself have not tried to do what you have asked. We used to put extra channels on the 1.2 to 1.9 cards. So maybe why not?

ALL the suggestions here are applicable....

However, you could do what you suggest if you really wanted to...how easy it is depends on the version...

1.2 to 1.6 are a bit easier than 1.8 and 1.9 cards, but they can all be zeroed and rewritten with valid data if you have the right gear.

It would have to be Aurora ID1 data these days I guess.

I know these cards are old, & realise that more than likely are good for nothing , but thought it was a try even if its just as a goldie..
Thats IF its possible to wipe & rewrite the required data to them ...

Whats the "best way" to confirm the version of the cards please ??

OH just checked the cards in "card info" via my hummy ..
the old F**tel (actually Tstra digital cable - when i read it properly) comes up as "invalid"

the O*tus is actually running all the ABC / SBS chanels ok..
will leave in & see if the others apear..

I dunno anything about optus cable cards....

With sat cards you can zero them and then rewrite the needed data to recreate a genuine card that works...HSN, HMK etc ...then reactivate them if you have the logged data....

whether its worthwhile is debatable however.....its a good learning exercise sure, but getting the required equipment might be hard these days....a do-all programmer is the way to go, but only an old used one would be available these days...

I don't have any of the old tutes anymore, although there would be some "hoarders" here who would have...you know who you are..:-)

    Cheers

the O*tus card reads in FMcard..
how/where do i find the card version ??

the old F**tel "Tlstra Digital Cable" card ony gets unknown ATR & a red dot (card error)

any ideas please.. i think due to age IF the fxtl card can be wiped ??? then rewrite even as a goldie , but no idea IF this is possible...

That would be an Aurora card, does it look like the top picture on this page

if so if you need aurora details to put on a card then you should be able to extract from this one quite easily, and then program a goldie or silver to get all aurora channels, alternatively, it would be just a matter of writing a couple more Channel IDs to the card and you can get all aurora channels that way as well, but be prepared to update the card with ID's from time to time.

    Hey Al..

its actually the 2nd card down...
I get all the SBS / BC for all states but not the "others"..

FMcard reads it to but not much info in there at all.

Okay, in FMCard do you get 1.8 or 1.9 in the Version window (Second box to the right of ATR up the top)?

    Al

interestingly enough .. there is no version in that box at all.
    I have settings as = com1 3.5Mhz

    starts as unknown ATR

    then only details are
    date
    ascii serial
    hex serial
    prov ID -00
    date -00
    prov id -10
    date-10
    prov id-20
    date-20
    prov id-30
    date-30

    thats all....

edit : i have a goldie that works... but how do i "add" to this O*tus card with all channels ..

if you add the channel id "Chid" to that card it will give you all the channels .You need to log the the card with a season to see what chid it's asking when you change to each channel, then using FMcard add them.Depending on version of card you may need to calculate a signature when you send them to the card.
Been a long time since I did it to my v1.9 card and it is still going strong.
