Yes, it can be changed to any area... but because it's already been registered, the person who registered it will either have to change it, or advise VAST they have sold it to you, so you can apply to have it activated/changed over to your details and address.

I had a vast box registered in a friends name in WA.
They didnt want it anymore so i took the box and registered it for all the victorian channels and they didnt even ask for any details.
Only gave them the smartcard number and overnight it changed.
So you dont need letters from the past owner at all.

I would guess pacificbanana did because he said its now registered for Victoria.

Be great if all thats needed is the SmartCard number and a Postal address (for State/Zone allocation)

One thing, do you still need a verifiable email address for a relocation?

Just curious as to the latest on Vast....

I presume a VAST card still cannot be used in a third party receiver in any way or form ? Including with a CI cam ?

Can a VAST card be activated for multiple VAST regions ? I presume not ? How easy is it to get activated for a different state to the one you are in ? What checks do they do in regards to activations ?

    TIA

It can, but it would be nearly impossible to do it. Only Optus can issue the CAM and Card pre-married, and they won't give you one unless you can prove it's for an authorised MATV system. How to apply and how much it costs, etc, is unknown to me. But 'can't be used in any way or form' technically isn't true. It can be done if you know the right people, I'm sure.

There is such thing as a 'master card' for all regions. Broadcasters, Optus, UEC Lab Techs, etc, all have access to these for testing and monitoring purposes.

A few people on here have reported more than one bouquet in their TV list. But they're all travellers, so it must be a temporary thing to allow them to travel between zones.

Just do what everyone else is doing, Sanity. Get yourself one UEC for each zone, three total, and just wait ever so patiently for the day someone works out how to divorce them. Expensive shit, I know. But how desperate are you to have access to all services through one box? I want one now!
